Filming is now well underway on Danny Boyle’s “T2: Trainspotting 2,” the long-awaited sequel to his 1996 cult hit. The four key characters of Renton (Ewan McGregor), Sick Boy (Johnny Lee Miller), Begbie (Robert Carlyle) and Spud (Ewen Bremner) all return in the new film which shifts the action to modern-day Edinburgh and these now grown up lads.
Said to be only loosely based on novelist Irvine Welsh’s follow-up novel “Porno,” Boyle and scriptwriter John Hodge have returned for the new film and new set pics which went online today show McGregor and Miller at work alongside Boyle on the production. The film is targeting a January 27th 2017 U.K. release, with a U.S. one following a week later.
