Production is currently underway on a second season of the “Star Wars” series “Ahsoka,” and two names tied to the franchise have cleared up talk surrounding their involvement in future projects.
Actors Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor, who played Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, respectively, made an appearance at Fan Expo Boston over the weekend, with talk coming up about their work in the franchise.
McGregor mentioned his wife, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, was currently filming “Ahsoka” as she reprises her role of Hera Syndulla, but several reports seemed to claim he too had joined in some way. That’s not the case with full comments published by Collider showing that McGregor confirmed he’s NOT involved in filming the new season or any other “Star Wars” works.
Christensen is involved in the new run in what is expected to be an expanded appearance beyond that in the first season.
That said, could he one day take on a lead role in a “Star Wars” movie or TV show? The actor addressed the possibility (via Screen Rant): “100%. I would love to, yes. If the powers that be decide that’s something that they want to see, I would be there in a heartbeat.”
“Ahsoka” has been in production since late April and is expected to air sometime next year on the Disney+ service.
