Gugu Mbatha-Raw (“The Morning Show,” “Motherless Brooklyn”) is set to join Tom Hiddleston in Marvel Studios’ “Loki” TV series currently in the works for the Disney+ streaming service.
Specifics of her role are under wraps, but it is said to be the female lead and a prominent character. Whilst Hiddleston is the only confirmed name by Disney so far, Mbatha-Raw joins a cast that reportedly also includes Owen Wilson and Sophia Di Martino.
Writer Michael Waldron and director Kate Herron both executive produce the series which is currently filming in Atlanta for a Spring 2021 debut. The series is reportedly set to take place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame” and will tie into the May 2021 release “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness”.
