Matthew Macfadyen To Join “Deadpool 3”

HBO

Emmy winning “Succession” and “Ripper Street” star Matthew Macfadyen is in talks to join Ryan Reynolds in the third “Deadpool” movie at Marvel Studios and Disney.

The Shawn Levy-directed film sees Ryan Reynolds reprising his role of the Merc with a Mouth Deadpool who will be joined by Hugh Jackman reprising his role of Wolverine from the “X-Men” films. Despite the character’s death in “Logan,” this isn’t expected to interfere with that film’s continuity.

Also onboard is Emma Corrin in a villain role. Macfadyen’s role is unknown at this time but the film has reportedly been seeking a ‘third wheel’ to Deadpool and Wolverine who helps generate the friction between the pair.

Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin wrote a previous draft of the script with regular “Deadpool” Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick coming along later to write.

The franchise moves into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will mark the MCU’s first R-rated entry and the first produced by Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige.

Disney has “Deadpool 3” dated for November 8th 2024. Macfadyen is currently working on the Amazon film “Holland, Michigan” alongside Nicole Kidman and Gael Garcia Bernal.
