Universal Pictures has acquired the film rights to Mattel’s Barbie says the trades.
Laurence Mark (Julie & Julia, Jerry Maguire) is producing the feature which will be live-action tentpole feature. Writers are currently being sought for the project.
Universal also distributes Mattel’s animated Barbie movies.
