Current “Doctor Who” star Matt Smith has scored the lead role in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut “How to Catch a Monster”.
The contemporary fairytale with fantasy noir elements is set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city.
Billy (Christina Hendricks), a single mother of two, is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.
Eva Mendes also stars. Gosling, Marc Platt, Adam Siegel, Michel Litvak and David Lancaster will produce.
