“Matrix 4,” “Godzilla vs. Kong” Delayed

In the wake of “Tenet” and “Wonder Woman 1984” shifting two weeks and two months respectively, Warner Bros. Pictures is also pushing back a whole bunch of other projects.

Originally slated open May 21st 2021, the fourth “The Matrix” film will now arrive April 1st 2022. The delay isn’t a surprise, the film was only partway through shooting when it was shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic and it isn’t clear when production will start again though next month has been touted.

The monster mashup film “Godzilla vs. Kong,” which reportedly has Junkie XL (“Mad Max Fury Road”) doing the score, has also been pushed back half a year from November 20th 2020 to May 21s 2021. Then there’s the animated “Tom & Jerry” film which moves from December 23rd 2020 to March 5th 2021, the film “Witches” has been pulled from its October 9th 2020 date and hasn’t been rescheduled, and an untitled New Line horror film opening June 4th 2021.

One film seemingly not changing for now is “Dune” which is sticking to its Christmas release. Warners has indicated that new trailers for its upcoming films will arrive with the “Inception” re-release on July 17th which has led to speculation that’s when the first teaser for “Dune” will arrive.
