Marvel’s “Winter Soldier” Scraps Prague Shoot

Marvel’s Disney+ series “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” has shut down production in Prague because of concerns over the coronavirus spread.

The $150 million six-episode series has been shooting for months in Atlanta but has had bad luck in terms of its overseas shoots. Filming was to take place in late January in Puerto Rico for two weeks, but production was suspended there due to earthquakes.

Filming returned to Atlanta for February and then moved to the Czech Republic from last Friday for a three-week stint which was supposed to run for a bit over a week. That has now been scrapped after the government of Prague closed schools and placed other restrictions on event and travel.

The studio is now getting everyone back to Atlanta and it’s unlikely the show will return to Prague. Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan star in the series which is still slated to premiere on Disney + in August.
