Actor Chris Pratt has revealed that James Gunn’s “Guardians of the Galaxy. Vol. 3” appears to be going early with the actor indicating today marked the first day of production on the Marvel Studios sequel.
Pratt revealed the news while announcing the latest episode of the podcast “Parks and Recollection”. Marvel Studios hasn’t officially announced the commencement of principal photography, though Dave Bautista has previously indicated it would film in November.
The new film takes place after the events of “Thor: Love & Thunder” which includes some of the “Guardians” characters. Actor Will Poulter is onboard to star as Adam Warlock in the new film which marks Gunn’s final film in this franchise.
Gunn also confirmed today on Twitter that despite the various Marvel delays by Disney the other day, “Guardians” is unaffected: “#GotGVol3 is neither pulled nor delayed, still scheduled for May 5th 2023. We are scripted & storyboarded, crewed & casted, & READY TO GO in just a little bit here.”
“Guardians of the Galaxy. Vol. 3” is due out May 2023.
