This past weekend saw Geoff Keighley hosting The Game Awards 10-Year Concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
The one-night event featured a live performance of iconic video game music from the last decade or so with a full orchestra performing iconic tracks from the scores or games like “God of War,” “Elden Ring,” “Hades” and “Marvel’s Spider-Man”.
Gustavo Santaolalla showed up in person for tracks from “The Last of Us” game, and even Jack Black popped up to sing his “Peaches” song from “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” at the event.
But one of the big surprises was the very first public performance of the main theme from “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2”. Composer John Paesano returns from the two previous games for the new one and was on hand at the event to premiere the track titled ‘Greater Together’.
Starting out with a variation on Peter’s theme from 2018’s “Marvel’s Spider-Man” and then blending in Miles’ theme from the 2020 “Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales,” the track combines the two game’s styles before suddenly changing into something much darker and more sinister – hinting as the arrival of Venom.
The OST for “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” is expected to be released close to around the time of the game’s release on October 20th.
