“Marvels” Rumored To Have Cut Cameo

Marvel Studios

With “Dune” having exited for next year, Marvel Studios’ “The Marvels” looks to be one of the biggest films left on the docket for the remainder of the year.

A direct sequel to “Captain Marvel,” the film also serves as something of a sequel to multiple MCU Shows. In the new film Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence.

But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan, Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau.

A new rumor has popped up online that has gained traction. It indicates a significant cameo was reportedly cut from the film. Insider MyTimeToShineHello broke the news, saying the alleged original plan was to cast a well-known name as a major hero from the comics (but the report doesn’t reveal who).

The film would then make us think the character would have a big role in the film, but they die at the end of the first act. Sources for the scooper also confirm those plans were scrapped.

If true, it’s not clear how far along in the production process the film was before those plans were ditched. Nia DaCosta helms the film, which also stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury along with Park Seo-Joon.

“The Marvels” is currently tracking for a November 10th theatrical release.
