Marvel’s “Guardians” Clip & Saldana Talks End

Marvel Studios’ upcoming “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” in May will reportedly mark the last outing of the original crew, including Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Drax, Rocket, Gamora and Groot.

Speaking with Variety, actress Zoe SaldaƱa said she is quite happy with that arrangement and is seemingly done with playing Gamora – or more specifically done with ever having to go through the gruelling make-up regime she goes through to get into character:

“I can never say no to anything, but that green makeup? I wouldn’t be upset if it didn’t happen again. I miss Gamora, but I don’t miss 3:30 a.m. calls and five-hour makeup sessions and trips to the dermatologist afterwards.”

Despite the hassle, she says she loves the job and the people she gets to work with. She tells EW:

“I’m just so happy that once again I got to work with great people, I had an evolution that I witnessed of myself, but also my director and my cast. I just felt very blessed and grateful. It was a very sweet departure, I have to say.”

One place you likely won’t see her is “Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special” which drops on the Disney+ service on November 25th.

The special sees the Guardians travelling to Earth during Christmas time in an effort to find a gift for Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) who is still glum after Gamora’s disappearance at the end of “Avengers: Endgame”.

Their plan leads them to Hollywood, where Drax and Mantis go out in search of Kevin Bacon (playing himself), an actor Star-Lord has praised in past films. Marvel has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette for the one-off, which you can see below.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” arrives in cinemas in May next year.
