Actress/singer Diamond White will lead the cast of the animated series adaptation of “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” for Marvel and Disney Channel. Laurence Fishburne will also be voicing a recurring role as mischievous trickster The Beyonder.
White will play Lunella Lafayette alongside Alfre Woodard and Anthony Williams as her grandparents, Libe Barer as her best friend, Sasheer Zamata and Jermaine Fowler as her parents, and Fred Tatasciore as the Devil Dinosaur.
The series follows the adventures of 13-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette and her ten-ton T-Rex, Devil Dinosaur. After Lunella accidentally brings Devil Dinosaur into present-day New York City via a time vortex, the duo works together to protect the city’s Lower East Side from danger.
The project is executive produced by Fishburne and Steve Loter (“Kim Possible”). The series is expected to make its debut in 2022.
