Disney To Do Steve Rogers Musical For Real

Disney+

The fake stage production “Rogers: The Musical,” which appeared in the premiere of the Marvel Studios series “Hawkeye” on the Disney+ service, is set to become a real thing.

News broke when Marvel released a teaser video of a very Peggy Carter-esque dressed woman in front of Disneyland California Adventure Park’s Hyperion Theater. She holds up a programming booklet with “Rogers: The Musical” on the cover.

The video was captioned: “A timeless story of a timeless hero! A short one-act musical is coming for a limited time this summer to Disney California Adventure Park! Stay tuned for more details.”

The faux production seen in “Hawkeye” is based on the life of the first Captain America, Steve Rogers. The scene in the series showcased the musical number “Save the City” set against a stage recreation of the Avengers battle of New York with a few creative liberties.

The musical has officially been part of MCU canon ever since with a poster for it making appearances in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”.

Scott Wittman and producer Marc Shaiman penned that song for the series but it’s not clear if either is involved in this stage version. More details will be announced at a later date.
