Marvel Studios has announced its TV plans for the rest of the year, with one of its works undergoing a significant change to its release strategy.
First up, the six-episode second season of “Loki” has been scheduled for an October 6th launch. Weekly episodes will start rolling out from that date, which will continue until mid-November.
Then the “Hawkeye” spin-off “Echo” will be released on November 29th, but here’s the big news – the series will be launched all at once as opposed to week-to-week episodes.
Disney+ has previously been the strictest streamer regarding a weekly release strategy, with all their series adopting the approach aside from the recently launched “Muppets” series. This will mark a first for Marvel on the streamer.
Other streamers either blend both strategies (e.g. Amazon, Hulu) or mostly opt for the binge model (e.g. Netflix).
“Echo” centers around Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), a deaf Native American superhero who has the talent to imitate any opponent’s fighting style.
The series serves as something of a precursor to the upcoming “Daredevil: Born Again” series and will have both Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio guest starring as their “Daredevil” characters for multiple episodes.
