Marvel Has Fun With “Ironheart” Tease

Marvel

Marvel Studios aired the first three episodes of “Ironheart” this past week with the remaining three set to release this coming Tuesday.

The big question that has long been lingering over the series is – will Mephisto finally be confirmed? The immortal demonic entity has long been rumored to appear in several Marvel projects, only to never show up in the actual works.

It has happened enough it has become a long-running meme. Then, several years ago came a report that Sacha Baron Cohen was rumored to be playing the role in this series.

Those rumors that escalated in late 2023 when a Marvel copyright filing for the show had Cohen listed as ‘Mystery Man’ – a placeholder name for someone else. Cohen’s role is expected to be essentially a cameo.

Now, Marvel has teased the final three episodes with an image on Threads of a hooded figure in deep shadow, adding the caption: “On Tuesday, he finally arrives. #Ironheart”.

The figure is almost certainly Anthony Ramos’ Parker Robbins who has become The Hood, the character serving as the main antagonist of the series, but Marvel is having obvious fun with the fans with this tease – the shot so dark as to be barely visible (it has been considerably lightened above).

Series star Dominique Thorne recently teased a ‘new villain’ introduced in the series. Names weren’t named, but the actress indicated to ET Online that the character will likely show up again after this:

“I don’t think [it’s the last that we’ll see him in the MCU]. I hope not. I hope it’s not the last time that we see him. But I do think it’s like the best boost of encouragement that you could get, when I did learn that he would be introduced in Ironheart. Because, of course, we know how much the fans, and how long the fans, have been waiting for that. For it to be in this show that they get him, let’s go.”

Co-star Ramos added: “He’s one of the elite actors of our time, too. So that also helps.” The series also stars Alden Ehrenreich, Lyric Ross, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam, Anji White, Eric André, Cree Summer, Shea Couleé, Sonia Denis, Zoe Terakes, and Shakira Barrera with one of the actors already revealed to be playing a famed character from Marvel lore.
