Marvel Studios has completely reshuffled its TV release date calendar with multiple delays for its slate of television shows.
The move comes about not just because of the writer’s and actor’s strikes but a general slowing of the rollout of content at Disney.
As of now, the second season of “Loki” remains set for October 6th. In addition, the second season of the animated anthology series “What If” has been set for release around Christmas Day.
Next, the series “Echo” was to debut in November and has now been pushed to January next year. Similarly, the animated “X-Men 97” which was due later this year, will now debut sometime in early 2024.
Then there’s “Agatha: Coven of Chaos,” which was originally aiming for a very early 2024 debut but has now been delayed to early Fall 2024 and will serve as a lead-up to the Halloween holiday. It has also undergone a name change to “Agatha: Darkhold Diaries”.
Finally, “Daredevil: Born Again,” “Ironheart” and “Wonder Man” have all been indefinitely delayed and effectively removed from the schedule for now. All three show’s completion is being impacted by the strikes.
Sources for the trades suggest Marvel also wants to focus its efforts on making each title an event for fans – thus spreading out of content will help.
