Several updates today on shows based on celebrated comic book lines.
First up, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige told a panel at 2019 CCXP that the upcoming three new Disney+ series based around previously unadapted iconic superheroes – Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk – are all targeting a late 2020 debut reports Fandom.
Next, DC Universe has released the first teaser for their superhero series “Stargirl” with the clip showing off the series’ main characters along with a tiny glimpse of Brec Bassinger’s teenage hero Courtney Whitmore in action. The series is scheduled to make its debut Spring 2020 on the service.
“Star Girl” follows a teenager moved by her mother to Nebraska. Struggling to adapt to a new school, make new friends and deal with a new step-family, Courtney discovers her step-father has a secret; he used to be the sidekick to a superhero – and so she borrows his cosmic staff and unwittingly becomes an inspiration for an entirely new generation of superheroes.
Finally, HBO has released the promo for the season (and possibly series) finale of their acclaimed nine-episode “Watchmen” series which comes to a finish on December 15th. The promo teases a potentially dark ending in mind for what has become one of the most acclaimed shows of the year.
