“The Amazing Spider-Man” director Marc Webb has been set to helm the long-in-development Bermuda Triangle action-adventure feature “Bermuda” at Skydance.
Plot details are under wraps aside from the story being set in the mysterious patch of the Caribbean running between the Florida Straits, Bermuda and Puerto Rico.
In that region, the inexplicable disappearances of planes and ships in the area over the years have been rumored to be due to paranormal or extraterrestrial causes.
No writer is presently attached and once the strike is over and one is, Webb would consult on the script but will NOT be co-writing. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger will produce.
The film has been in development for many years since it was announced back in 2015. A prior version in 2017/2018 with Ryan Reynolds linked to star and Sam Raimi attached to direct, then in 2020 actor Chris Evans and director Scott Derrickson were attached. None are involved any longr.
Webb most recently directed Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of “Snow White” starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot.
