Following word that other day that “Oldboy” remake star Pom Klementieff will be playing Mantis in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” sequel comes word, via Deadline today, that the half-Korean French actress is taking on the role of Mantis in the Marvel Studios film.
In the comics, Mantis was a girl raised by Kree priests who believed one day she would give birth to a ‘Celestial Messiah’. When she was eighteen she was encouraged to experience a regular human existence, her memory was wiped and she was sent to Earth and even joined the Avengers.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is scheduled for a May 5th 2017 release.
