“The Good Place” and “Nine Perfect Strangers” alum Manny Jacinto has joined the cast of the “Star Wars” series “The Acolyte” on the Disney+ service.
Jacinto joins previously announced series cast members Amandla Stenberg, Jodie Turner-Smith and Lee Jung-jae. “Nine Perfect Strangers” co-creator Leslye Headland serves as showrunner and executive producer on the series.
The show unfolds during the High Republic era – a century before the events of “Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace”. A time when the Jedi were at their strongest and the Sith were believed to have been eradicated from the galaxy.
The show will likely come after the release of “Andor” this week, the third season of “The Mandalorian” early next year, the already shot “Skeleton Crew,” and the currently in production “Ahsoka”.
