Mann Robbins Exit Amazons The Power
Universal Pictures

Leslie Mann and Tim Robbins have exited the ten-episode sci-fi global thriller series “The Power” at Amazon Studios with both their roles to be recast.

Based on Naomi Alderman’s novel, the story begins when all teenage girls in the world suddenly and simultaneously develop the power to electrocute people at will. The power is hereditary, inbuilt, and can’t be taken away from them.

The tale follows various characters from London to Alabama, Nigeria to Seattle in a story exploring a complete reversal of the power balance of the world.

The series began production in February 2020 with Mann in the female lead role of Seattle mayor Margot Cleary-Lopez. But production was shut down by mid-March because of the pandemic.

Now the series is finally back in production and due to the delays the actors have had to exit. Scenes already done with both actors will now be reshot.

Alderman led an all-female writers room that worked on the first season including Jane Featherstone, Naomi de Pear, Reed Morano, and Claire Wilson.
