A month after NBC axed its high-concept missing plane mystery drama “Manifest” following a three-season run, talk of the show’s possible resurrection is picking up steam.
Deadline reports that NBC is in conversations with Warner Bros TV about a possible renewal. In addition, Netflix has also reportedly resumed talks with Warner Bros. TV about a new season on the streamer.
The talk comes as viewership of the show’s first two seasons continues to surge on Netflix in the United States. In addition, NBC’s original plans to renew “Good Girls” fell through and proposed spin-off series “Law & Order: For the Defense” is not moving forward – freeing up funds and a hole in the network’s schedule.
Netflix is also reportedly interested, and thanks to “Lucifer” Warner Bros TV has a working template for moving a cancelled broadcast drama to the streamer.
The show, conceived for a six-season run, was axed with an unresolved season three finale cliffhanger. Josh Dallas, Melissa Roxburgh, J.R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise, Jack Messina, Parveen Kaur and Matt Long starred in the orignal run.
