SPOILERS AHEAD FOR “MANDALORIAN” S2

In the wake of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” it was expected Mark Hamill had hung up the role of Luke Skywalker.

That changed when the actor, with the help of CG assistance, reprised the role one more time for the second season finale of “The Mandalorian” on Disney+.

De-aged to look like he did back in “Return of the Jedi,” the character took custody of Grogu and allowed his character a big action sequence tearing dozens of robot Dark Troopers to pieces.

Hamill has now taken to Twitter to share a message of thanks to showrunners Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, his remarks causing the hashtag #ThankYouJonandDave to trend at one point.

Both seasons of “The Mandalorian” are now streaming on the Disney+ service.
