“Man of Tomorrow,” “Dynamic Duo” Script Talk

Warner Bros. Pictures

Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (“500 Days of Summer,” “The Disaster Artist”) have reportedly been hired to rewrite the DC Studios animated theatrical release “Dynamic Duo” which will hit cinemas on June 30th 2028.

As previously reported, the film will focus on two versions of Batman’s sidekick Robin – Dick Grayson and Jason Todd – as they set out to defend Gotham side-by-side.

Arthur Mintz will direct the project, he and his wife Theresa Andersson co-founded animation studio Swaybox which is providing the one-of-a-kind animation for the feature blending miniatures, models, puppetry, animatronics and computer animation.

Matt Reeves, Peter Safran and James Gunn are producing the film which will be an ‘Elseworlds’ project – not set in either the DC Universe or in the Robert Pattinson-led “Batman” film canon.

The news comes as Gunn has continued offering small updates on his “Man of Tomorrow” film, the follow-up to this year’s “Superman,” which will release in cinemas July 2027. On Threads, he confirmed that he has already completed writing the screenplay but is in the ‘lengthy stage’ of rewriting.

Aa behind-the-scenes photo has also gone online of John Cena from the set of “Peacemaker” Season 2 with David Corenswet in full Superman costume visiting the set. Gunn also confirms the current season of “Peacemaker” will serve as a prequel to the events in “Man of Tomorrow”, calling the two projects “very very connected.”
