“Glengarry Glen Ross,” “Heist” and “Spartan” filmmaker David Mamet will direct the Nicholas Celozzi-penned drama “2 Days/1963” at Monaco Films.
Celozzi penned the story which purports to tell how his great uncle, Chicago mobster Sam Giancana, allegedly arranged the assassination of President Kennedy as revenge for his and his brother’s attempts to dismantle organized crime after the mob helped put JFK in the White House.
The story will unfold in the 48 hours before the assassination in November 1963 and claims to show “the mob’s version of the assassination”.
Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Mamet will do a rewrite of Celozzi’s script. Celozzi and Michael Sportelli will produce and filming beings in the last quarter of this year in Los Angeles and Dallas.
