Major Movies Departing Peacock Already

Just one day after launch, a number of major movies on NBCUniversal’s new streaming service Peacock are set to depart the service – some as early as today.

2009’s “Fast and Furious,” the fourth film in the studio’s biggest current franchise, left the service at 3am this morning, barely 24 hours after Peacock switched on. The Steve Carell-led “Evan Almighty” left a few hours earlier.

On July 31st, a bunch of others are exiting – the “Jurassic Park” trilogy, “Shrek,” “The Mummy,” “The Mummy Returns,” “The Matrix” trilogy, “Children of Men,” “The Blair Witch Project,” “Joe,” “Frailty,” “Jonah Hex,” “Drive Angry,” “Spawn” and “Parenthood”. No comment has been released by a Peacock spokesperson about the expiring titles.

While it’s common for content licensed to streaming services to come and go, but departing in the space of less than 24 hours or just under two weeks is an understandable eyebrow raiser.
