Mahershala Ali has been cast in the eight-episode Hulu psychological thriller limited series “The Plot” based on the novel by Jean Hanff Korelitz.
The story follows a once-promising young novelist-turned-professor struggling to maintain his self-respect. When he takes the opportunity to rise to fame once more by stealing the work of a late student, his life is changed forever.
After an anonymous message alerts him to the fact that someone knows what he’s done, there’s no telling what he will do to protect his secret. Korelitz’s book “You Should Have Known” was previously adapted into the HBO mini-series “The Undoing”.
The “Swan Song” trio of Ali, Mimi Valdes and Amatus Karim Ali will executive produce. Abby Ajayi (“Inventing Anna”) will serve as showrunner.
