Tobey Maguire, Olivia Wilde, Spike Jonze and Phoebe Tonkin have joined the cast of Damien Chazelle’s “Babylon” at Paramount Pictures.
The quartet join an already stacked cast which includes Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, Diego Calva, Jovan Adepo, Katherine Waterston, Li Jun Li, Max Minghella, Samara Weaving, Lukas Haas, Flea, Eric Roberts, P.J. Byrne, Rory Scovel and Damon Gupton.
The story is set in the late 1920s during the movie industry’s transition from silent films to talkies and explores the rise and fall of multiple characters. The film is expected to be a blend of fictional and historical characters, but specifics of each actor’s roles are under wraps.
Olivia Hamilton, Matt Plouffe and Marc Platt are producing and filming will kick off next week in Los Angeles ahead of a Christmas 2022 limited opening and early January wide opening.
