Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions have released a new ‘first look’ featurette for “M3GAN,” the new killer doll film which arrives January 7th in the U.S. (January 12th in Australia) – making it the first major studio release of the new year.
The story follows M3GAN, a life-like doll programmed to be a child’s greatest companion and designed by a brilliant toy-company roboticist named Gemma (Allison Williams).
When Gemma suddenly becomes the caretaker of her orphaned eight-year-old niece, Cady (Violet McGraw), Gemma’s unsure and unprepared to be a parent. She decides to pair her M3GAN prototype – a decision that will have unimaginable consequences.
Ronny Chieng, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Lori Dungey, and Stephane Garneau-Monten co-star. Gerard Johnstone (“Housebound”) directs from a script by Akela Cooper (“Malignant”) based on a story co-created by James Wan (“The Conjuring”). Wan and Jason Blum are producing.
