“Evil” and “Plane” actor Mike Colter first played Luke Cage on Netflix’s “Jessica Jones” series before taking the lead role in a two-season show centered on his character.
He also reprised the role in “The Defenders” limited series, and for the most part, fans were quite accepting of him in the role, which he hasn’t played in years.
Recently, Disney and Marvel have been shooting the second season of “Daredevil: Born Again” with Krysten Ritter returning as Jessica Jones.
That has led to plenty of speculation that Coulter will return as Luke Cage, along with possibly Finn Jones as Iron Fist, but nothing concrete from Marvel or Disney has confirmed it.
That has now changed as yesterday came the official announcement that in October, New York Comic Con will hold a panel for “Daredevil: Born Again” with Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Krysten Ritter, Vincent D’Onofrio and Colter all confirmed as participating.
Could we get the official announcement about Cage participating in the new season at the event?
In the comics, Cage became the new Mayor when Fisk was finally exposed and removed from office. Could that happen on screen? We’ll see.
The eight-episode “Daredevil: Born Again” season 2 is expected to premiere on Disney+ in March 2026.
