“Lovecraft Country” actress Jurnee Smollett and creator/showrunner Misha Green are re-teaming for the action vehicle “Fuel” which Amazon Studios is in negotiations to acquire.
Kat Wood is penning the script which will be developed as a vehicle for Smollett (“Birds of Prey”) to play a getaway driver who is coerced into working for a criminal and breaking all the rules she set out for herself.
The film aims to subvert the relationship between cars and masculinity. Smollett and Green, who also worked together on WGN’s “Underground,” will both produce.
Green is set to write and make her directorial debut on the “Tomb Raider” sequel at MGM.
