“Lost in Space” Renewed For Final Season

Netflix has announced that they have renewed their reboot of “Lost in Space” for a third season which will also serve as the show’s last. In addition, series showrunner Zack Estrin has signed a multi-year overall deal with the streamer to produce new series.

Estrin says in a statement: “From the beginning, we’ve always viewed this particular story of The Robinsons as a trilogy, a three-part epic family adventure with a clear beginning, middle and end”. With the first season airing April 2018 and the second December 2019, it comes as little surprise the new season won’t screen until sometime in 2021.

The series stars Toby Stephens, Molly Parker and Parker Posey lead the cast of the series which ended its second season with Don, Maureen and John escaping on the Jupiter 2, whilst another Jupiter Transport with the kids arrives in an unknown star system where they find the Fortuna – a ship which vanished nearly twenty years earlier.
