“Looney Tunes” Is HBO Max’s Most Popular

Parrot Analytics, a research based firm which determines the popularity of programs based on social media, fan ratings and piracy, has revealed that according to their statistics the best performer on the HBO Max service in its launch week was none other than their “Looney Tunes Cartoons” reboot.

HBO Max service had a muddled launch last week, but with it now online people have been browsing. Rather than go for the existing HBO content like “Game of Thrones” or the popular Warner Bros. Pictures titles, they’ve opted instead for Warner Bros. Animation’s iconic Looney Tunes cartoon.

Bloomberg reported the news, indicating that the new series was also the second most popular streaming platform launch series in the first four days of its debut – pulling in a 19.4x factor of how many times more in demand the series was than an average show.

That puts it behind the first four days of Disney’s “The Mandalorian” (46.1x) but ahead of both “See” on Apple TV+ (16.5x) and “Chrissy’s Court” on Quibi (3.4x). Also faring well on HBO Max was Sesame Street’s “The Not-Too-Late Show With Elmo” (10x) and “Love Life” (8.4x).

HBO already has around 40 million subscribers who pay a monthly fee, AT&T aims to convert all of them over to HBO Max.
