SPOILERS AHEAD FOR “LOKI” EPISODE 2
While “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” generated very little buzz online, Marvel Studios’ “Loki” has suffered no such fate.
Instead, this ‘Doctor Who meets buddy-cop formula in the MCU’ mashup has sparked online discussion to almost the same levels as “WandaVision” did early in its run. It also appears to be finding both its creative footing and a widespread appreciation at a faster rate.
Speaking to ComicBookMovie recently, the show’s head writer Michael Waldron discussed the ending of the second episode and promises what comes next will be crazier. It will also explain the identity of the female Loki variant very soon:
“If you’re excited by the end of episode two, buckle up. Things are going to just get crazier from there on out. As for their identity, I think that depends, I think maybe some people might know them, some people might not. In any case, it will all become clear very shortly.”
Actress Sophia Di Martino appears to be Lady Loki, though speculation of her potentially being Enchantress has been fired up online (via Inverse) due to the Castillian language version of the second episode’s credits and some eagle-eyed framers have figured out the character’s name is Sylvie Laufeydottir.
“Loki” continues releasing new episodes Wednesdays through July 21st.
