Marvel

The first trailer for the second season of Marvel Studios’ “Loki” hit yesterday morning and has broken a record.

The preview quickly became the biggest online trailer debut ever for any series on Disney+, with 80 million views in its first 24 hours. Not only that, but sentiment toward the trailer was reportedly extremely positive at almost 90% on Twitter/X.

Nominated for six Emmys, the first season remains the highest-rated Marvel Disney+ series on Rotten Tomatoes at 92% (7.9/10) from over 330 critics reviews, and a 90% verified audience score.

The first season remains Marvel Studios’ most-watched series on the Disney+ service and was the first show on the service to exceed 1 billion minutes of watch time in a single week.

The new run picks up in the aftermath of the first season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority.

Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.

Tom Hiddleston, Sophie Di Martino, Owen Wilson, Ke Huy Quan, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, Neil Ellice and Jonathan Majors star.

Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Dan Deleeuw and Kasra Farahani direct episodes.

“Loki” returns to Disney+ on October 6th.
