Logo Update Teases “Red Dead” Remaster?

Rockstar Games

Rockstar Games’ website has been updated with a new logo for the original “Red Dead Redemption”.

The update found by Twitter user TezFunz2 points out that in the update, a game known as “Red Dead Redemption (Rockstar Presents Ver)” has been added to the internal games list with the codename ‘RDR1RSP’.

Whilst it could simply be a branding exercise with an updated logo that will be rolled out to digital versions of the game, it follows on from reports last month of a potential remaster coming.

Those reports revealed South Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee has newly classified a version of the game for consoles – separate from existing ones for the original game and its various versions. The country’s ratings board has, in the past, revealed some upcoming game titles before their official announcement.

In addition, there was reportedly an update to the “Red Dead Redemption” website domain in late May – further fuelling the anticipation surrounding a potential remaster.

“Red Dead Redemption” was released for PS3 and Xbox 360 in May 2010 but was never ported to PC. Rockstar owner Take-Two said in May that the franchise had shipped over 75 million units to date.
