A Friday night screening of Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” was reportedly disrupted in Austin, Texas after a moviegoer released a live bat inside the theater.
CBS Austin spoke with a spokesperson at Cinepolis who confirmed a moviegoer was attempting to pull a prank. Local animal control was immediately contacted.
Moviegoers were offered full refunds, but the theater says the majority of viewers in attendance decided to stay and finish the film with the bat still flying around.
Additional security has now been added to the cinema and will check all bags upon guest entry.
