Lindelof Linked To “Star Wars” Film?

Lindelof Linked To Star Wars Film

If there’s one person who can handle the slings and arrows of aggravated fandom, it’s Damon Lindelof.

The writer/producer made a name for himself as co-creator and showrunner of ABC’s popular “Lost” throughout its run from its must-see TV early days to its contentious final run. Since then his small-screen endeavours for HBO have been celebrated successes. First with “The Leftovers” and then “Watchmen”.

In the realm of film however, he remains a controversial figure. His writing on the scripts for “Prometheus” and “Star Trek Into Darkness” saw some fans of those franchises very upset, while his last film “The Hunt” made headline news including drawing the attention of then U.S. President Donald Trump.

This week, a report at The Ankler (via The Playlist) suggests Lindelof is now developing a “Star Wars” film for Lucasfilm. It’s unclear if he’s working with another writer, if there’s a director attached, or just how far along in development the project is.

If true he joins a list that includes Patty Jenkins, Taika Waititi and even Marvel exec Kevin Feige as talent attached to mysterious “Star Wars” film projects still in early development. Jenkins’ film is the furthest along at last report, but even it was delayed indefinitely back in November last year.
