Lightning Entertainment will executive produce Prodigy Movies’ psychological thriller “The Reef” says The Hollywood Reporter.
Andrew Traucki (“Black Water”) penned and directs the story, based on true events, in which a group of friends whose sailing trip through Australia’s Great Barrier Reef turns tragic when their boat capsizes.
Stranded, they find themselves stalked by an 18-foot rogue great white shark hunting outside its normal habitat, and targeting the survivors one at a time.
Casting has not been announced. Michael Robertson produces the feature and shooting begins in March.
