Lex Arrives In “Superman & Lois” S3 Promo

The CW

The CW has premiered a mid-season trailer for the third season of “Superman and Lois” which returns with all new episodes this week after a two-week break. The clip puts the focus on the arrival of Lex Luthor (Michael Cudlitz) who is released from prison after two decades.

Cudlitz is said to be offering a very different take on the character than Gene Hackman’s genius conman, John Shea’s ruthless charmer, Jon Cryer’s unhinged supremacist, Clancy Brown’s overconfident mogul, Jesse Eisenberg’s twitchy tech bro, or Michael Rosenbaum’s mix of daddy issues and betrayal.

In the canon of the series, Lex was known to the world as the visionary billionaire behind LexCorp and known to the underworld as a brutal psychopath who terrorizes anyone he crosses paths with. After many years out of the public eye, he’s re-emerging hellbent on revenge against those who have wronged him.

In the first episode back from the break, Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) finds himself in uncharted territory, and Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) bonds with a new friend. Superman pays Bruno Mannheim (guest star Chad Coleman) a surprise visit, and Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui) puts Sarah (Inde Navarette) in charge while she’s away at a meeting with Chrissy (Sofia Hasmik).

It’s expected Lex will show up sometime next month. The clip comes as filming on James Gunn’s “Superman: Legacy” is reportedly set to begin in January in Atlanta, Georgia, with the film now in the earliest stages of pre-production according to Heroic Hollywood.
