Lenny Abrahamson (“What Richard Did,” “Garage”) is set to direct the film adaptation of Emma Donoghue’s international bestseller “Room” for Element Pictures.
The story follows Jack, a five-year-old growing up somewhere in America in an 11-by-11-foot shed he believes to be the whole world.
What he is unaware of is that his devoted young mother has shielded him from the truth – the pair of them are captives.
Donoghue is adapted the script, while Ed Guiney (“The Guard,” “Shadow Dancer”) will produce.
Abrahamson’s is currently in post-production “Frank”, the comedy drama starring Michael Fassbender and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
