“Crimes of the Future” and “No Time to Die” star Lea Seydoux has scored the role of Lady Margot Fenring in Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Two” film for Legendary and Warner Bros. Pictures.

In the books, Margot is a long-standing member of the Bene Gesserit sisterhood who is married to a Mentat count. While they fall under the influence of the Emperor (Christopher Walken) and his House Corrino, she remains loyal to the sisterhood.

The character is a relatively minor one but has some part to play in the story, especially with Feyd (Austin Butler) from whom she seeks his genetic material. The character was omitted from David Lynch’s film while the 2000 mini-series adaptation incorporated parts of her storyline into the Princess Irulan character.

She is one of four key new additions to the film alongside Walken, Butler and Florence Pugh as Irulan. They join returnees Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and Josh Brolin.

Villeneuve is back to write, direct and produce while Spaihts will return to co-write with Villeneuve. Filming is expected to commence shortly ahead of the film’s October 20th 2023 release.
