Marking their first time working together again since the end of the “Infernal Affairs” trilogy nearly two decades ago, beloved Hong Kong-born actors Tony Leung Chiu-Wai and Andy Lau will reunite on the action feature “Goldfinger” at Emperor Motion Pictures.

Set in the 1980s, the film is set against the cut-throat machinations between Hong Kong’s rival business elites fighting amidst the backdrop of the tail end of British colonial rule. It also reportedly takes inspiration from the collapsed 1980s Carrian Group conglomerate.

The film’s narrative follows the rise and bust of a fictional Hong Kong company called Jiali Group, following its chairman Cheng Yiyan through fifteen years of corruption investigations, murders, millions lost in legal fees and billions lost in market value.

Simon Yam (“My People, My Country,” Philip Keung (“Shock Wave 2”), Alex Fong Chung-sun (“Overheard 3”), Cantopop starlet Charlene Choi, Chin Ka-lok and Carlos Chan also star.

Felix Chong (“Project Gutenberg”), who wrote the ‘Infernal’ trilogy, will pen and direct this project which boasts a reported budget of around $30.8 million.
