The Game Awards 2020 have wrapped its seventh annual ceremony with Naughty Dog’s “The Last of Us Part II” dominating the line-up – taking seven nods whilst no rival scored more than two each.
Critics loved but fans were more divided on the sequel which won the top honor of Game of the Year along with Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Audio Design, Best Action/Adventure, the Innovation in Accessibility award, and a Best Performance by Laura Bailey as Abby.
Other multi-award winners were “Ghost of Tsushima” taking Best Art Direction & the fan award, “Hades” for Best Indie & Best Action Game, “Final Fantasy VII Remake” for Best Music & Best RPG Game, and “Among Us” for Best Mobile Game & Best Multiplayer.
Single award winners were “Half-Life: Alyx” for Best VR Game, “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” won Best Family Game, “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2” won Best Sports Game, “Mortal Kombat 11” won Best Fighting Game, “Microsoft Flight Simulator” won Best Sim Game, “Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout” won Best Community Support, “No Man’s Sky” won Best Ongoing Game, “Phasmophobia” took Best Debut Game, “League of Legends” won Best ESports Game, and “Tell Me Why” took Games for Impact.
