Official reviews are in for Naughty Dog’s highly anticipated PlayStation game exclusive “The Last of Us Part II” and while reaction to early spoiler leaks suggested a potentially divisive game, critical reviews are anything but mixed.
Clocking in with a jaw-dropping 96/100 on Metacritic, the title has outpaced the 95/100 of its predecessor, 94/100 of “God of War” and 93/100 of Naughty Dog’s previous major game “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” to become the PS4’s most acclaimed exclusive title.
It has also tied with “Uncharted 2: Among Thieves” (96/100) with the best score for a Naughty Dog game, and is the most acclaimed game title of 2020 so far ahead of “Persona 5 Royal” (95/100), “Half Life Alyx” (93/100) and “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” (91/100).
The title earned 44 full perfect 10/10s from various outlets, and is third only to Rockstar’s “Grand Theft Auto V” and “Red Dead Redemption 2” (both at 97/100) in terms of all games (exclusive or not) on the PlayStation platform.
