“Last of Us” Game Actors Return For Event

Naughty Dog Productions

“The Last of Us” game actors Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, who voiced and motion capture performed Joel and Ellie respectively in the two games, have briefly reprised their roles for a theme park event.

The pair have reportedly recorded new dialogue as the characters for Universal’s annual Halloween Horror Nights event which is themed around the franchise this year.

Taking place at Universal Studios theme park, this year will see players traverse through a scare maze based on the original game’s Pittsburgh location.

Speaking with SFX Magazine (via VGC), Universal Orlando’s Lora Sauls confirmed the hiring:

‘We got to use the voiceover actors from the video game. We did voiceover recordings with them and they re-recorded our entire dialogue for our haunted house. So we were very, very excited to work with both Troy and Ashley on the re-recording of our haunted house dialogue.”

The event runs from September 1st to November 4th at Universal Studios Orlando, and September 7th to October 31st at Universal Studios Hollywood. Tickets are on sale now.

The event follows on from the best-selling game’s HBO TV series adaptation earlier this year which received 24 Emmy nominations. The Pittsburgh section wasn’t really portrayed in that series, the location being shifted to Kansas City.
