Lanthimos Slips On A Rockefeller Suit Series

Following on from his Oscar-winning success with “The Favourite” along with critically acclaimed films like “The Killing of a Sacred Deer” and “The Lobster,” filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos is developing to both direct and produce a limited series for Searchlight Television.

An adaptation of Mark Seal’s New York Times bestselling non-fiction novel “The Man In The Rockefeller Suit,” the story follows Clark Rockefeller – a gregarious, successful, and mysterious descendant of the Rockefeller clan.

When his wife Sandra begins to suspect that Clark isn’t who he says he is, and the decades-long web of deception of the man – real name Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter – slowly begins to unravel. “Will and Grace” star Eric McCormack played the man in a 2010 Lifetime telemovie about the story.

David Gilbert is penning the new series which Donald De Line and Lanthimos will executive produce. This takes over for a film version in the works with a script by David Bar Katz and had Benedict Cumberbatch loosely attached to star at one point.
