Several directors have set up new original projects today.
“Happy Death Day” and “Freaky” director Christopher Landon has announced the start of production on his next movie “We Have a Ghost” which is NOT a horror film.
The story follows a homeowner whose online videos of the Ernest Borgnine-like ghost haunting his house become a global viral sensation. Things take a sketchy turn when the ghost and a teen go missing.
Next up, comedian and “Los Espookys” creator Julio Torres will write, direct and star in his own comedy feature at A24. Tilda Swinton is attached the star in the project, but plot specifics are under wraps. Torres, Emma Stone and Dave McCary will produce.
Finally, Justin Dyck (“Anything For Jackson”) has been set to direct Ross Lazar & Sebastian Shepard’s contained thriller script “Welcome to the Neighborhood” which Brad Fuller (“A Quiet Place”) is producing for Amazon.
