Netflix has released the official trailer for the second season of the kid’s animated martial arts comedy series “Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight” with Jack Black reprising his eponymous role.
In the new season, Po leaves China for the first time in an attempt to stop the villainous weasels Klaus (Chris Geere) and Veruca (Della Saba) from achieving their plans.
Together with Mr. Ping (James Hong), fierce Wandering Blade (Rita Ora), and slippery Rukhmini (Rahnuma Panthaky), the mission will take them from a museum heist in India to a volcanic eruption in Central America and a long journey to England.
They face danger at every turn to unravel the secrets surrounding Blade’s brother and his connection to the magical weapons.
The second season introduces an impressive guest cast, including Harvey Guillen as a frog named Pelpel, Richard Ayoade as a mole-rat named Kyle, Shohreh Aghdashloo as pirate queen Forouzan, and Melissa Villasenor as excitable scientist Akna.
In addition, a Lunar New Year special for the series will see Po telling a story explaining Chinese New Year customs and traditions to elevate the crew’s spirits. The new season will start streaming on January 12th.
The original “Kung Fu Panda” film trilogy currently has a combined gross of over $1.8 billion at the worldwide box office.
